July 22, 2013

Podcast

Summary of Show Notes:

Success as defined by Websters dictionaryCybln square Redone PicMonkey

  • degree or measure of succeeding
  • favorable or desired outcome; also : the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence

Success will not look the same for everyone. Therefore whatever notion you have of what success looks like, you need to make sure it is tailored made for you. It has to fit you.

Dan MillerI like what Dan Miller said in his book “48 Days to the work you love”. He said success is not a future event – it is the “progressive realization of worthwhile goals.” thus, either you are successful today or you are not.

I have reworded it this way, “Success is not a destination. It is a process. Whatever you are doing that is your process, then you are being successful.”

How?

Every individual or organization can position themselves for success by actively pursuing these three principles:

  1. Modifying current thinking
    1. thoughts of failure
    2. incompetence
    3. inadequacy
  2. Adjusting current attitude
    1. it’s too late … its not too late
    2. ingratitude … being grateful (you get to …)
    3. unforgiveness … forgiving the past
    4. blame … take responsibility
  3. Positioning for success
    1. Network with new circle
    2. Step out in faith
    3. Plug your ears, put on blinders and put one foot before the other
