4 Keys In Making An Impact On Your World

I am learning and have learned to be so very careful with whom I share my visions, dreams and strong ideas. I have to be strategic and ruthless in my choice. Not everyone can handle what it is I’m seeing.

Some people will not understand and may even criticize and laugh at the decision(s) that I make. But if I’m going to make an impact on my world, I have to live with the fact that not all will applaud my decision and that some will even pull away from me.

This used to be a huge fear of mine and at times, still is. I want to be liked. I want everyone to like me. I have come to realize that this is impossible. Not even Jesus was able to accomplish that even though it was not his intention. Neither will I.

Therefore in an attempt to make an impact on your world, you must consider four things:

  1. Focus on the bigger picture. If you don’t have a bigger picture in mind (vision) for what it is you are pursuing, you will become discouraged along the way and could be easily sidetracked by the noise around you.
  2. Be confident in yourself and God. This is an important trait to develop. You must believe in yourself. Believe that you are able to do at least one thing that will get you to your desired goal; maybe not everything at once, but at least one thing. Secondly, have a strong faith in God.
  3. Be strategic in your decision. Have a strategy in mind as to how you are planning to accomplish your task. It does not have to be a perfect strategy … that will never happen, so rule that thought out. Simply come up with a plan or have the people you choose in the next step, help you. One of the things I do is to listen to Podcasts of people I admire and have them become my virtual mentors.
  4. Be ruthless in your choices: Making the tough decision of who you surround yourself with is crucial. Having people around you who do not understand or have been where you are thinking of going, will sabotage your plans. You may upset some people here, but this is where you have to be strong; be resolute.

Remember this: when you are seeing life, most around you are seeing death. Therefore look for those who are seeing what you are seeing. They are there. Find them!.

I believe we have to be that way if we are going to make an impact on our world. What’s your thoughts. I would love to hear from you in the comment box below.
